Meet the Point Grey Team

We meet and pick up at Jericho Hill Centre, 4196 West 4th Avenue - :

Unfortunately, there is no longer room to store bikes overnight, so you will need to take your bike home, which means you'll get extra practice! Should you choose to leave your bike on the location at one of the bike racks, please bring a lock as we are not reponsible for lost or stolen bikes.

The Rides

Level 1 & 2:
The beginning levels stay on-site and ride on the fields. There are a variety of terrains onsite for beginners to practice their skills.

Level 3:
The Pedalheads™ level has more mobility, so rides on trails around the property as well as working on their road sense on the obstacle course in the parking lot. Once confident with their bikes and groups, this level sometimes goes on fun outings. Walking their bikes to Trimble or Jericho Beach Parks or Queen Mary Elementary School provides additional riding challenges and the thrill of what cycling has to offer.

Level 4:
Jericho Hill Centre is located across the street from the beach and down the road from Pacific Spirit Park. There are many quiet streets for an introduction to street riding, as well as West 4th to teach the importance of safety and awareness. Using these, there are many options for Advanced Pedalheads™ to build endurance and learn to ride safely on city streets. We ride to Spanish Banks, Hastings Mill, McBride, Connaught and Tatlow Parks and Jules Quesnel, Queen Elizabeth, Bayview and General Gordon Elementary Schools.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads use the local hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places they ride include the above plus: Chaldecott and Pacific Spirit Park, Kits Beach, St. Georges, Trafalgar, U-hill and Carnarvon Elementary and Dunbar and Kitsilano Community Centres.

Upper Levels 8+:
For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the trails to Granville Island, Science World, Eric Hamber Secondary and sometimes all the way to English Bay, Sunset Beach and Stanley Park!

Meet the Van Centre Team

Our cool, urban location! We meet and pick up at David Livingstone Elementary School, 315 E. 23rd Avenue. Ideal for families from Oak Street to downtown or Burnaby.

The Rides

Level 1 & 2:
The beginning levels stay on-site and ride on the field, grass and cement areas to master basic skills. There's also a covered area beside the school in case of rain.

Level 3:
While still utilizing the fields on location, the Pedalheads™ level has more mobility, so rides on trails around the school, and walks their bikes to Cartier Park, as well as to the grass field & tennis court of Tupper High School.

Level 4:
The Vancouver Centre location is lucky to be on the Ontario bike path! After the onsite, obstacle course and road-readiness test, Advanced Pedalheads™ can hone their road skills on the quiet, bicycle-dedicated streets to Cartier, Hillcrest, Prince Edward and Douglas/Riley Parks as well as to Mount Pleasant Comunity Centre.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads need hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places they ride include: Hillcrest, Queen Elizabeth and Gray's Parks, the False Creek Seawall and Eric Hamber Secondary School.

Upper Levels 8+:
For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the trails to Granville Island, Trout Lake, Kits Beach, David Lam Park and as far away as UBC!

Welcome to Pedalheads™ North Vancouver!

Meet the North Van Team

We meet and pick up at Brockton Preparatory School, 3467 Duval Rd, (All Day Camp: 604-813-4634)about four blocks East on Lynn Valley Road from our old location. Located on a quiet street in the heart of Lynn Valley, it used to be Westover school.

The Rides

Level 1 & 2:
The beginner levels stay on-site and ride on the field and cement areas. Besides the Brockton fields, the school has a large undercover area for skill practice on rainy days and for some Newbees activities.

Level 3:
While still mostly staying on location, the Pedalheads™ level has more mobility. Walking their bikes across the road, they do ride on the Adventure Trail to Argyle.

Level 4:
There are several quiet streets around the church for an introduction to street riding. Using these, Advanced Pedalheads™ make their way to Ross Road, Viewlynn, Lynn Canyon and Draycott.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads need hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places these levels ride include: Lynn Headwaters, Seymour Demonstration Forest, Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, Princess, Rice Lake, Upper Lynn, Lynn Canyon, Rice Lake, Kilmer and Kirkstone.

Upper Levels 8+:
In North Vancouver, we are lucky to be within an easy ride to some of the best parks and world renowned cycling trails in the Lower Mainland. For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the trails throughout Lynn Valley and the Seymour Demonstration Forest. Trails like Circuit 8, Scout Camp, Lilooet, Horse Trail, Fisherman's, Varley, Fromme Mtn, Mt. Hwy, Suspension Bridge, Lynn Canyon and the Demo Road.

Welcome to Pedalheads™ West Vancouver!

Meet the West Van Team

The North Shore has an incredible cycling culture. So when you told us one location on the Shore wasn't enough, we were happy to oblige, with a location in West Vancouver. Held at Westcot Elementary School, located at 760 Westcot Road.

The Rides

Level 1 - 3:
The beginning levels stay on-site and ride on the large grass and gravel fields. Besides the undercover area at Westcot Elementary School, St. David's church has an indoor area available if the weather turns.

Level 4:
There are several quiet and flat areas at Capilano Cemetery for an introduction to street riding. Using quiet, residential roads, Advanced Pedalheads™ can make their way to Hugo Ray Park and Ridgeview Elementary.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads need hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places they ride include: Burley, Chatwin and Hugo Ray Parks.

Upper Levels 8+:
For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the trails through Capilano.

Meet Team Richmond

We meet and pick up in the parking lot of Richmond Baptist Church, at 6640 Blundell Road, -- Richmond Baptist Church is located in a central part of Richmond, adjacent to Blundell Park and cycling trail.

The Rides

Level 1 & 2:
The beginning levels stay on-site and ride on the grass and cement areas. Besides Blundell Elementary School, the church has a large parking lot for skill practice.

Level 3:
While still staying on location, the Pedalheads™ level has more mobility, so rides on trails around the park as well as the basketball & tennis courts and the parking lot.

Level 4:
There are several quiet streets behind the church for an introduction to street riding. Using these, Advanced Pedalheads™ can make their way to Ferris, Kilgour and Grauer Elementary Schools.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads need hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places they ride include: Minoru Park, South Arm, Garry Point, Steveston Park, The Dyke, Hugh Boyd & Jesse Wolk Secondary Schools and Thompson Community Centre.

Upper Levels 8+:
For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the trails past London Farm, to the Airport/Iona Beach, The Richmond Nature Park, MacDonald Beach and sometimes all the way to UBC!

Meet the Coquitlam Team

Queen of all Saints School is located at 1405 Como Lake Avenue, --, between Gatensbury and Schoolhouse. We meet and pick up in the parking lot behind the school.

The Rides

Level 1 & 2:
Queen of all Saints has a large parking lot area and field for the younger children to learn balance, momentum and confidence. It also has a large playground area for the safety activities and, in the event of torrential rain, the school also lets use their gymnasium!

Level 3:
While still staying on location, the Pedalheads™ level has more mobility, so they ride on trails around the school in the front parking lot and in the small forested area on-location as an introduction to trail riding.

Level 4:
The school is located near many quiet streets for street riding practice. Using these, Advanced Pedalheads™ can make their way to Harbour View Elm, Como Lake Park and Blue Mountain.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads need hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places they ride include: Como Lake, Blue Mountain and the many trails of Mundy Park.

Upper Levels 8+:
For the kids in the higher levels of the program, there is a variety of terrain available for more advanced riders. Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the challenging trails of Coquitlam River, Burnaby Mountain and Burke Mountain.

Meet the Surrey Team

Whiterock Christian Academy is our host in South Surrey. Located at 2265 - 152nd Street, --, we are in the midst of some awesome riding trails and parks! We meet and pick up in the parking lot behind the school.

The Rides

Level 1 & 2:
The beginning levels stay on-site and ride on the grass and cement areas. There are shaded and covered areas between the school buildings and portables in case of sun or rain!

Level 3:
The Pedalheads level has more mobility, so also rides on the many safe and scenic trails behind the site in the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest.

Level 4:
There are several quiet streets behind the school for an introduction to street riding. Using these, Advanced Pedalheads™ can make their way to Sunnyside and Jessie Lee Parks as well as through the network of trails through the Urban Forest to Huntington, Dogwood and Bridlewood Parks.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads need hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. As well as the above, some of the places they ride include: Bakerview, Southmere Village, Semiahamoo Trail and Alderwood Parks. For longer jaunts, they can ride on the streets and trails past Dunsmuir Farm to Blackie Spit, Crescent Park and Crescent Beach.

Upper Levels 8+:
For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips to Elgin Heritage Park, Redwood Park, the SSAP Mountain Bike Park and sometimes all the way to the Glades!

Meet the Victoria Team

Our host in the capital, Victoria School for Ideal Education, is located at 2860 Belmont Ave, - we meet on the big beautiful field at Oaklands Elementary on Belmont at Ryan and have classroom, storage and washroom facilities across the street.

Level 3:
The Pedalheads™ level has more mobility, so ride on trails around the property as well as working on their road sense on the obstacle course in the parking lot. Once confident with their bikes and groups, this level sometimes goes on fun outings. Walking their bikes to Oaklands Park and David Spencer & the School for Ideal Education.

Level 4:
Centrally located, Oaklands is surrounded by bike paths and many quiet streets for an introduction to street riding. Using these, there are many options for Advanced Pedalheads™ to build endurance and learn to ride safely on city streets. We ride to Alexander, Central, Royal Athletic and Willow Beach Parks, as well as Richmond School.

Level 5 - 7:
Gearheads, Treadheads and Shockheads use the local hills to work on proper gear-shifting, cadence and stamina. Some of the places they ride include the above plus: Allenby, Carnarvon and Stevenson Parks, Cattle Point and Doncaster Elementary School.

Upper Levels 8+:
For additional challenge, Crankheads ride all the above plus do field trips on the trails of Summit Park, Mt. Tolmie Park, Camosun College and Beacon Hill!

We haven't completely scouted all the amazing rides nearby, but there are plenty of quiet residential streets for those learning their street safety, as well as all the trails down by the river for the more experienced.

We will meet at the Rosemont Community Centre at 2807 - 10th Street NW,

You'll see the recycling containers in the parking lot, we'll meet right out front of the Community Centre in Confederation Park. We haven't scouted out all of the riding trails we'll be utilizing, but the park is big and beautiful, so there will be fantastic riding opportunities!
